It is with heavy hearts that we have decided to give up the ghost on Willowsong Music Festival 2020. Over the last three years we have, with the help of an amazing staff, poured blood, sweat and tears and thousands of dollars out of our own pocket to produce Willowsong Music Festival.
From the beginning our mission has been:
AT WILLOWSONG WE EMBRACE DIVERSITY OF CULTURE, ARTS AND HUMANITY. WE AIM TO CREATE A HARMONIOUS SPACE WHICH COUPLES A COMMUNITY-CENTERED HAVEN FOR MUSIC AND THE ARTS WITH SUSTAINABLE FOOD PRODUCTION AND EDUCATION. BY THESE MEANS WE HOPE TO CULTIVATE AN ENVIRONMENT WHICH STRENGTHENS THE POSITIVE ENERGY THAT FLOWS THROUGH US ALL.”
We have watched and waited over the last four months as nearly all other events around the world were cancelled. We held out hope that by late August we would be able to proceed responsibly. With the virus still on the rise and the politicization and polarization taking place surrounding not only Covid-19 but also so many other facets of humanity, we simply don’t believe that a gathering of hundreds of people (at our home) would be able to be executed in a safe and positive manner in accordance with our mission.
Stay safe out there and please continue to spread peace, justice, and love in any way you can! We sincerely hope that by 2021 we will all be able to share in the magic of Willowsong once again. In the mean time, please look for ways to support local artists and small businesses wherever you can.
